The Make Up behind your Make-Up : Foundation

Hey Everyone,

So As I recently posted, I am starting a series of blogs entitled " The Make Up BehindYour Make-Up." I talk about the vision HERE ----->>> The Beginning of The Make Up Behind Your Make-Up <<<----
So if you want to know the inspiration behind the series.. .make sure you read that first.

I hope you enjoy this series :)

When I put on my make-up, the very first thing I typically reach for is my foundation. My foundation is essential to my make- up routine in  fact that it is the base for which the rest of my make up will be applied to, and it creates a great surface for all of my make-up to flow beautifully onto my face.

The word " foundation" is defined as "A body or ground on which other parts rest or are overlaid."

A foundation to ANYTHING in life is a crucial element to being any solid, maintaing structure. From a house, to your face, foundation is critical in properly putting together works of art. The foundation is what is laid FIRST before anything else is built, it is the determining factor as to whether you will have a solid, long standing structure, or whether everything will crumble under pressure.

So here is the same question God posed to me: " What is your foundation, and how strong is it being built?"

When God posed this question to me, I gave Him that " Christian answer." You know , " God...of COURSE, YOU are my foundation." But God told me, get REAL with Him. Was my foundation REALLY Him? Or was I standing on something else?

I began to really evaluate everything that I leaned on in my life. What was I allowing to be a structure for me to stand on, and how stable was I?

Looking into this question was really hard.Sometime self-reflecting will be difficult, but it is necessary for growth in Christ. Self-reflection allows you to see where you TRULEY are, don't be afraid to get real with yourself, then you can get REAL with God.

So as I began to look at my life, I saw that God was like little pieces of rock in my foundation, but He wasn't the surface of my foundation. It was like God was a little piece of the structure, and everything else I allowed to influence me became the actual foundation for my life.

I can honestly tell you...

I wasn't solid.

In fact,

I was probably in the most unstable place I could have ever been in, in my life.

This new found fact about myself literally BROKE everything in me.

I had to change my whole state of mine. I had to literally allow God to TEAR down all the foundation that I had built on my own, and ask Him to re-build His foundation in my life.

Okay....

So where do you begin?!??!

How does God begin to wreck everything you built on your own and then re-build everything from the ground up?

For God , it is BEYOND simple, YOU are the one who built that original, old, raggedy, broke down, busted and disgusted foundation of yours! He can easily tear down that and start over, He is the God of creation, He just needs an invitation from you personally to start over!

So what are some key components ingredients in your " Make Up" Foundation??????

APPLYING THE WORD:

Luke 6:47-49

Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.”

This verse tells you EXACTLY how to " invite God" to start re-building everything about you. You have to hear God's words and DO THEM. Doing God's word is a HUGE factor in making your life everything that God intends for it to be.

" I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." ( Psalm 119:11)

When you have God's word hidden inside of  you, it makes it difficult to be an unstable person, but ONLY if you apply it. God's word is the key to having a solid foundation. Build your foundation with HIS WORD.

APPLYING HIS WILL:

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God has plans for you beyond anything you could conjure up in your head! STOP TRYING TO BUILD yOUR FOUNDATION ON YOUR OWN! You will FAIL FAIL FAIL. How can you even THINK that you can do better than God can? Let Your life be built on Him. He is the SOLID ROCK (Matthew 7:24-27). You stand on HIM and you will be unwavering in your faith and in a lot of other aspects of your world too.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

You were created for good works! You were made to glorify the kingdom of God. You have to understand this in order to understand that your foundation being rooted and grounded in Christ is so crucial to your ENTIRE walk with God.

DO NOT WAIVER :

James 1:6

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

Stand tall and firm on the foundation that God builds for you! Know that if God has built you up, NOTHING can tear you down. God builds SOLID things. HE doesn't create just to create, He has purpose. If you allow Him to mold you, and shape you, your foundation will be set in STONE. You will be able to stand against anything the enemy tries to bring your way!

I encourage you today, evaluate your foundation. Get a life inspection! If you discover that God has not built up your foundation and that you are not standing knee deep in Him, then ask Him to tear you down and start over! Tell Him to MAKE YOU OVER! He will do it... I know because He did it for me!

I pray that you all got SOMETHING from this. Know that God's foundation is only the beginning to the beautiful things He wants to build in you!

" On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand!"

WELCOME to " The Make Up behind your Make-Up" series!

I love and adore each of you!!!!!

  1. "YOU are the one who built that original, old, raggedy, broke down, busted and disgusted foundation of yours!" Favorite quote!

Ephesians 2:10, love that verse! I don't wear much make up but I recently had started looking into it and wondering how it all works. I see foundation is key! With that being said, I too have been evaluating the "make up" of my life and seeing things that influence my foundation and I am seriously running hard after GETTING REAL haha with God. Thanks for your heart and for sharing these moments! LOVE YOU!
